Fear Nothing, Hate No One
Little One,
Charlie Kirk has been on your heart and mind, in the media, and in conversations everywhere you go recently. Tell Me what you know about Charlie Kirk.
Until he died, I had never heard his name before. I don’t follow politics.
Was he a politician?
To tell You the truth, I’m not sure.
Find out.
He was a 31-year-old from Chicago. He started a group called Turning Point USA in 2012… It is 2025, so that was 13 years ago… which would mean that he was only 18 years old when he started it?!
What else?
He very quickly became a conservative leader, especially among young people, encouraging them to vote conservative. He became close with the Trump family. It said that he was influential in helping select other political leaders in the conservative party. He was very influential in getting Donald Trump reelected and weighing in on the selection of JD Vance as a vice presidential selection.
He had a segment that he would do, called “Prove Me Wrong,” where he would encourage people to question his stance on various subjects. He would respectfully debate people, often students on college campuses. While he often acknowledged his faith in Jesus Christ, he was clear that his political stance could be backed, not only with the Bible, but also with common sense and logic.
I don’t necessarily see that he was a politician...
I wonder how he got money to support his family. Did he work for anyone in the political realm?
Is that any of your business, Little One?
No, I was just curious.
Mind your own business.
Have you found the answer to your question?
Which one?
If Charlie Kirk was a politician?
Not really.
Look up the purpose of Turning Point USA.
There were a lot of news articles and websites that had their opinions about the purpose, so I went back and googled, “What is the mission statement of Turning Point USA:”
“Turning Point USA is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded in 2012 by Charlie Kirk. The organization’s mission is to identify, educate, train, and organize students to promote the principles of fiscal responsibility, free markets, and limited government.”
There are Turning Point USA chapters on over 3,500 college campuses.
You have listened to several YouTube videos over the last couple weeks of Charlie Kirk sharing his thoughts and beliefs. Was there anything he has talked about that you found offensive or untrue?
Nothing that I can recall.
You have heard him disagree with his whole heart about thoughts people brought to him on controversial topics. Has his way of engaging with people about what he believes to be true influenced the tone or position you take when you discuss what you believe to be true with people?
That is an interesting question. No, I don’t think it has. Charlie was very well informed about what is going on in our government, about policies, and stances on those policies. I am not.
He was able to speak into the political arena from a position of authority; not just based on having heard things, but on having lived with insider understanding politically.
If I were to try to speak on political agendas, I would be speaking from a place of ignorance. I suppose most people who speak about politics are speaking from a place of secondhand, biased information…
What do you mean by biased information?
Well, depending on which source you get your news from, you will get news that has been written and delivered from a specific point of view, oftentimes with direct language opposing the other side’s perspective.
Do you vote?
Yes.
How do you decide how you will vote?
Will we be sharing this conversation?
Do you have anything to hide?
Yes. My ignorance.
Do you believe you are the only ignorant voter in America?
Ignorant = lack of knowledge or information
No. There are a lot of us who lack knowledge and information on both sides…
By the way, why do there have to be sides anyway? Why do we have to be so divided? Why is everyone so convinced that they are right about everything and everyone else is wrong? If you happen to have an opinion about anything, people immediately take you and stick you in a category or a box…
You are either right or you are left. You are either Republican or you are Democrat, and there are all sorts of villainizing words that are put on people in both camps.
There are people in both camps who LOVE the LORD with all of their heart and want to honor You, not only personally but as a country. There are people who LOVE people on both sides, and both sides can defend (somewhat eloquently) how their position supports the LOVE of God and people and how the opposite side does not.
And depending on what you have to say, not only will people decide if you are left or right, but they might conclude that you are extreme left, or extreme right. It seems we can’t be put into a narrow enough category in the minds of other people.
It’s just not always true.
And we don’t just do that politically, we do it religiously - which is why we have so many denominations. People want to know what denomination we are so they can form a judgment in their mind about whether or not they will agree with us on whatever. Honestly, it doesn’t even matter what the subject is. We have preconceived ideas about what people believe based on the word “Republican” or “Democrat” or “Presbyterian” or “Baptist” and then, when we hear those words, we are done listening.
I’m guilty.
I’m not placing this judgment just on other people - it’s me, too. If I see someone who is well-dressed, I make assumptions about what they would think of me and what I’m wearing. If I hear someone yelling at their kids at the grocery store, I make assumptions about what their whole life must be like.
I hate that we do this.
I hate that I do this!
Answer me this, LORD: why do we do it? Why do we feel the need to judge everything about everyone?
Why can we not understand that people are on a journey…
What did that statement just remind you of?
When I was a volunteer chaplain at the hospital, one day I met a precious woman who was there with her husband. They were immigrants from Africa. They had been in the United States since the 1980s. It was their desire to go back home to Africa when her husband was well enough to go.
She recently reached out and sent pictures of them. They are back in Africa - healthy and happy.
Thank You for how You took that man from the brink of death and restored his health and allowed them the opportunity to go home finally.
What did that woman say to you that had such an impact?
A lot. I think the most shocking thing she said to me was when she explained that they were supposed to go home yesterday, and they were looking forward to going home, but it did not happen. They were supposed to go home several hours before I showed up, but it did not happen.
With all of the sincerity in the world, she looked at me and said, “this is the best day of my life! I asked her why because her husband was very ill lying in that bed. She said, “yesterday, God spoke to me and He told me that JOY will come in the morning… And here you are!”
I remember thinking what an amazing and incredible world we would live in if we could all look at the person who was standing in front of us, so very different from us, yet brothers and sisters, God‘s precious creation, and could honestly say in our hearts, “this is the best day of my life, because I have the opportunity to speak with you!”
What an amazing and incredible world that would be!
She said something else. Think hard… what else did she say?
She said, “We are all on a journey. I cannot go on your journey, and you cannot come on mine, but each of our journeys will inevitably lead us to the beautiful feet of Jesus. And, oh what a glorious day that will be when we will stand before our Creator and sing, ‘Holy, holy, holy are You, LORD God, Almighty, who was, and is, and is to come. Blessed be the name of the LORD!’”
Little One, remember that you are simply on a journey. You will meet many, many people on your journey. Some of them will point you in My direction; some of them will attempt to lead you astray.
Charlie Kirk stood as a prominent figure in your society, pointing whoever would listen in My direction. YOU are to do the same.
The remarkable thing about Charlie is that he LOVED everyone, despite differences, and yet, that LOVE could not protect him from hate.
What did I tell you about hate?
When you fear anything long enough, that fear will morph into hate, and you will begin to hate that thing. Hate is an emotion that leads to death. Hate begins where LOVE ends. LOVE is the only power strong enough to overcome hate.
You’re thinking about another conversation… share that thought.
I was thinking about when I prayed this prayer,
“I want to LOVE what You LOVE, so help me to LOVE people as You LOVE them. I want to HATE what you HATE. You hate sin because sin hurts us. Help me to hate the sin in my own life enough to choose to walk in the righteousness You purchased for me.”
And I’m also suddenly thinking about a lot of Bible verses that state that we are supposed to hate some things.
What things?
Psalm 97:10: “You who love the LORD, hate evil!”
Proverbs 8:13: “The fear of the LORD is to HATE evil; Pride and arrogance and the evil way and the perverse mouth I hate.”
Share what you just looked up.
I looked up the Blue Letter Bible to see what the word “hate” in that verse meant. It just means “to hate,” so I googled, “What does the word ‘hate’ in the Bible mean?”
It has two primary meanings:
1) A strong feeling of hostility and aversion, often associated with sin and condemned by God.
A deep passionate dislike or disgust for something which is considered evil and contrary to the nature of God, who is LOVE.
God hates sin and the wicked who rebel against Him. It is a holy hatred of the sin itself, not a lack of LOVE for the people.
Believers are instructed to hate evil, wickedness, and falsehood, and to not let hatred stir up strife.
When the Bible says that God “hates and opposes everything that is opposed to His perfect nature, particularly unrepentant sinners and those who reject Him,” it is a holy hatred.
Little One, you’ve heard, “Hate the sin; LOVE the sinner.” How did that prayer you prayed end?
“Help me to hate the sin in my own life enough to choose to walk in the righteousness You purchased for me.”
I have the ability to hate the sin in people with a Holy and Righteous hatred born out of my unconditional LOVE for them.
I remember my pastor saying, “God hates what hurts us. Sin hurts us so God hates sin.”
Yes, that is true. My children have proven to do a VERY poor job of hating the sin and LOVING the sinner - they have LOST SIGHT of My LOVE. My Holy hatred of sin was best displayed on the cross as Jesus took His last breath and said, “It is finished.” He put to DEATH the consequences of sin and shame for those who would receive Him.
You ARE commanded to hate sin but I want you to hate the sin that is IN YOURSELF. I want you to put to death your old sin nature and take on my Holiness and Righteousness. If all of My children learned how to hate the sin in their own lives, they would have NO time or energy left over to hate the sin in anyone else’s life.
What if all of My children shifted the sentiment to say, “Hate the sin in your own life and LOVE the sinners around you.” You would be MUCH closer to the ideal of walking like Jesus.
Continue - what is the second definition of hate in the Bible?
2) To “love less” or “esteem less.”
Comparative love. Sometimes the context of “hate” is to love something to a lesser degree than you love something else.
Prioritizing devotion. In Luke 14:26, Jesus tells his disciples to “hate” their family and even their own lives, meaning that their devotion to Him should be greater than their love for their own family or even their lives. We are not to hate our family, but to LOVE God more than we love our family.
In Genesis 29, it says that Jacob “hated” Leah because he loved Rachel more. In this context, hate simply means a less intense love.
Malachi 1:2-3 says that God “hated” Esau. It was not a personal, emotional hatred. It simply meant that God chose to favor and bless Jacob.
You have many more verses mentally queued up to discuss with Me but we have already said all that needs to be said on the subject.
Hate the sin in your own life. LOVE the people around you. Fear nothing and you will hate no one.
Back to bed, Little One.
LOVE,
Daddy
