Who are You?
Baby Girl,
Yes, Daddy.
Good morning.
Good morning.
Before you get out of bed, I want us to talk.
Okay.
Who are you?
That’s easy! I’m your precious little peanut, the light of your life, the apple of your eye…
Do you know what that means, Little One?
The apple of your eye = someone or something that is cherished above all others. The phrase comes from an old English meaning of "apple" as the pupil of the eye, which was once considered a precious and irreplaceable part of the eye. Because sight is so vital, "the apple of your eye" became a metaphor for something that is deeply treasured and protected.
Yes, you are the apple of My eye.
Continue… who are you?
I’m your daughter. Your flesh and bones, created in Your image and dearly loved. I am the light of the world and an heir to the kingdom of heaven. I carry within me keys that can open doors no man can open and a lock that can close doors no man can open.
I have the ability to close the mouths of lions and to walk through fire without smelling of smoke. I have the confidence to stand before royalty and power unafraid because the Kingdom I represent is greater than the one they do.
I am more valuable than diamonds and rubies and yet no more valuable than the abused, neglected, homeless and forgotten of this world in Your sight.
I am an author, evangelist and apostle - not because the world has confirmed that it is true but because You have called me that.
I love what my friend said to me last night, “What do you call a peach tree before it ever produces a peach?” A peach tree.
I am not an author or evangelist or apostle because I have proven myself to be one but because You have whispered that identity over me and I believe You.
Continue…
I am forgiven. I have been redeemed from the pit of hell by the precious blood of Jesus Christ. I am an image bearer. I bear the image of Jesus Christ in this world by the power of Holy Spirit.
I AM Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Gentleness, Faithfulness and Self-Control.
I am free because the one the Son sets free, IS FREE.
I am a new creation, recreated in Christ to do good works. The girl I used to identify with has died. I’ve buried her and she no longer lives, THANK YOU FOR THAT!
Who was she?
She was a mess. She lived, acted and reacted to everything from her soul… what she thought, felt and wanted. She ran from project to project, from person to person, task to task essentially asking everyone to tell her if she was good enough.
She believed she had no self-control but that was a lie, because from the time she was five years old she belonged to Your family. She was a daughter and an heir but she lived like a homeless beggar, begging people to love her and You to see her.
She exerted a LOT of emotional energy TRYING to prove her love to people who rejected her. She felt unworthy of human love and affection yet it was her deepest desire.
She believed she was broken so she behaved as though she were. She searched for someone capable of fixing her.
She was prideful in her self-loathing because all she could see was herself. If people were happy, she wanted to believe she was part of the reason and when people were upset, she owned it like it was her fault.
She stumbled through life arrogantly attempting to carry the weight of the world on her shoulders.
She manufactured artificial happiness by creating events and moments and collected them in photographs like a trophy wall. Look at the things I’ve done and the places I’ve been and believe that I am someone.
She was more concerned with making people happy than being Your pride and joy.
I used to hate her. I pity her now.
Pity = the feeling of sorrow and compassion caused by the suffering and misfortunes of others
I pity her because she was everything I am, but she didn’t know it. She could have been enjoying such a RICH existence if she had known who she was.
Little One, two years ago, I took you into the palace and showed you where you sat. What did you see?
I was in the most beautiful bedroom I’ve ever seen with a big canopy bed, floor to ceiling windows with a gorgeous view of the gardens and off in the distance, the darkness beyond the ivy wall. I was sitting at the window, sadly looking out beyond the walls of the kingdom feeling bad for those who lived in the darkness.
You spent the majority of your time feeling bad for them but occasionally went out, unarmed, to join them.
Yes.
Then what?
You told me that the whole palace was mine, and that there was no place in the kingdom of heaven that I was not permitted to explore. You told me to go and look around and see what I found.
What was the first thing you found?
Well, as I left my room and skipped down the hallway, I noticed lots of other kids like me sitting by their windows, looking sadly out at the darkness and feeling bad about it.
Baby Girl, your first assignment in your world is to go room to room throughout the palace giving your brothers and sisters permission to live like they own the place; to show them the armor room, where they can find every piece of equipment they need to go out into the darkness, as I have called you to, prepared not to join them, but to invite those they find to come Home.
Take them to the kitchen. I told you that everything you could ever need or want or even imagine is there in the kitchen and it is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Tell them they don’t ever have to be hungry again. What did you find in the kitchen?
A loaf of bread and a pitcher of water.
I AM the Bread of Life, and Holy Spirit is the Living Water. Remind your brothers and sisters that anytime they are hungry or thirsty, that is all they will need.
Bring them to the throne room - and don’t be shy. Approach Me exactly as you do on a daily basis. When you throw that door open, run across the room and jump into My arms like you always do. Invite them to do the same.
Take them out into the yard and, when they find a little rock that shines like a diamond, do not minimize their excitement. Do not make them feel foolish for finding such a tiny treasure. The same way I took time to delight with you over the shiny little rock you found, take the time to delight with them.
Don’t tell them that you have found diamonds and rubies and all sorts of precious gems. Delight with them over that shiny little rock and encourage them to keep looking.
I have things that I intend for them to find that you haven’t even dreamed of yet!
You are not special, Little One.
You ARE the apple of My eye, the light of My life, and My precious little peanut. You ARE the one I gave My Son for. This Kingdom belongs to you. There is nothing I own that you do not also own - but you are not special.
Special = better, greater, or otherwise different from what is usual.
When you realize that you are nothing, a grain of sand in a world of beaches, you will walk before man in humility.
When you realize that you are an irreplaceable, treasured daughter of the King, you will walk before man with purpose.
I want you to walk before man in humility and purpose and teach your brothers and sisters to do the same.
You are an evangelist to those who have already been called. When they understand, the WORLD will see Me.
You have a book to deliver this morning. Go get ready.
I LOVE you, Little One.
Daddy
