Baby Girl,
Have a seat. Leave that shovel right on top of your car.
It has been snowing nonstop. Last night, you had the cars clean and the driveway clear. Go measure the snow in the driveway.
6 1/4 inches.
How many inches did you shovel last night?
A few.
Look back at the first thing you shoveled. Is it clear?
No, and I have run the shovel across it a couple times.
Why are you working so hard to clear this driveway?
My husband was going to try to go to work, and I know that even if I clear it, it’s still snowing… but if I don’t shovel now, it will be too heavy to shovel when it piles up bigger.
So, you will need to shovel again?
Very likely. Someone in a group chat said that it’s supposed to snow for the next six hours.
If you shoveled for the next six hours, could you clear this driveway?
It would probably take six hours.
Why is your family not shoveling?
My husband is working from home. He plans on shoveling later. I have not asked the girls to help.
You have a family. You could work for six hours, or you could each work for an hour and a half. Are you following Me?
Yes. I need to get better at asking for help and delegating.
People have asked you how they can support your ministry. What is your answer?
For now, I’m not sure.
It’s time to change your answer. When people ask you how they can support your ministry, if you do not have a solid answer, ask them to ask Me how they can support your ministry. Those who are not simply looking for a connection with you but are looking for a way to truly support the ministry will seek an answer from Me and I will answer.
Your body is unconditioned. Shoveling for hours will lead to overuse and injury, and you know how long it takes to rehab those sorts of injuries.
Go in the house, take a shower, put on fresh clothes, stretch, eat breakfast, and do what we planned for the day. You can shovel again later if you’d like.
Ask your girls to each take about an hour to work on the driveway. Take a picture of your progress now and after they help.
This time shoveling with you has been a delight. Your heart has remained towards Me and, as always, Mine has been with you.
LOVE,
Daddy
